XC-103 Trifunctional Aziridine Crosslinker

DESCRIPTION
XC-103 tri-functional aziridine is utilized as a crosslinking agent and adhesion promoter;
When used as a cross-linker, XC-103 dramatically improves the final properties of adhesives, coatings and printing inks. It imparts strength and flexibility, improves solvent, alcohol and water resistance, and improves adhesion to difficult substrates;
XC-103 high molecular tri-functional aziridine reacts with carboxyl groups of acrylic emulsions and polyurethane dispersions forming cross-link network;
XC-103 is added to finish formulated coating systems just prior to use. It is added slowly with agitation, directly to the formulated coating systems. It can be added neat or in solution. If added in solution, a solvent without active hydrogen should be used.
Dosage: The addition level of XC-103 is 1% to 3% based on resin solid in most applications. Higher level, such as 5%, may yield higher solvent resistance and adhesion properties;
PH: An aqueous system with pH of 9.0-9.5, at the time addition, produces most often the optimum results. A lower pH may cause the aziridine to react prematurely in the pot
APPLICATION
Leather and Textile Coatings: To improves wear, water and chemical resistance. To shortens cure time and promote adhesion;
Adhesive: To increase cohesive strength and improves adhesion to difficult substrates, such as polyolefin, marble, stainless steel and grass;
Printing Inks and Overprint Varnishes: To improves adhesion to varied substrates, water and chemical and scuff resistance. To increases high temperature, resistance and shortens cure time;
Wood Coatings: To improves water, chemical, black heal and abrasion resistance. To shortens cure time;
Plastic Films: To improves adhesion and increases anti-blocking and anti-static properties.

SOLUBILITY
XC-103 is miscible in water and many common organic solvents. This allows it to be used in both aqueous and solvent systems.
STORAGE
XC-103 multi-functional aziridine must be stored away from acids and oxidizers. Store in cool, dry, well ventilated storage area and in closed containers. Protect material from freezing. The shelf life is approximately 18 months from the date of manufacture when stored in closed containers at 25°C. Do not expose to acidic materials, high heat,. direct sunlight, ultraviolet radiation and strong oxidizers.
